Parallel reasoning questions ask you to find the answer choice whose argument has the same logical structure as the stimulus, same shape of evidence, same kind of move, same strength of conclusion, with completely different subject matter. They're the longest questions in Logical Reasoning by raw text, which is exactly why they're worth a deliberate strategy.
There are two variants. Plain parallel questions give you a valid (or at least respectable) argument to match. Parallel-flaw questions give you a broken argument and ask for the choice that breaks in the same way, matching the error is the whole task, and an answer with valid logic is automatically wrong no matter how similar it sounds.
The skill is abstraction: strip the story and keep the skeleton. "All A are B; C is A; so C is B." Once the stimulus is a skeleton, matching becomes mechanical, and the choices with the wrong conclusion type can be eliminated without reading their full text, which is where the time savings live.
Stem language that signals this type:
Replace content with letters: conditionals, quantifiers ("all," "most," "some"), causal claims, and the conclusion's strength. The goal is a one-line formula you can compare against each choice.
Compare conclusion types before anything else, certainty vs. probability, recommendation vs. prediction vs. factual claim. A choice whose conclusion is the wrong species dies immediately, often on a one-line read.
Name the stimulus's flaw before reading choices (reversed conditional? part-to-whole? correlation-to-cause?). The right answer commits precisely that flaw; a choice with sound logic or a different flaw is out.
Subject-matter resemblance is bait. The right answer usually lives in a different domain entirely; a choice about the same topic as the stimulus deserves extra suspicion, not extra credit.

The most-chosen wrong answers share vocabulary with the stimulus while quietly changing the logic, a "most" becomes an "all," a prediction becomes a recommendation.
